who reigned with terror
Stay in one of our three easily accessible ground floor bedrooms. Light and airy, you can enjoy the high ceilings with exposed beams.
All of our rooms take their name from a Border Reivers clan infamous for raiding and marauding their neighbours. The Armstrong clan contained the most infamous band of Border Reivers, Johnnie Armstrong, alias Black Jock who reigned with terror throughout the area.
Our bedroom interiors have taken inspiration from the stunning landscape surrounding the inn with soft organic tones and hints of natural textures such as wood, slate, wool and tweed blended with luxurious Egyptian cotton for the highest levels of comfort and style.
There are touches of indulgence to make your stay as special as possible from fresh flowers to fluffy towels and always a homemade, freshly baked treat from the kitchen upon your arrival. Rooms Armestronge, Rutledge and Maxwell are all accessed via the colonnade which has two cushioned pews outside. Our 3 barns rooms are all dog friendly, and we can provide a dog bowl and bed during your stay.
